Last week, while on location filming in Las Vegas, Nevada, Scotty Cranmer, who has a plethora of X Games BMX Park medals to his name (including three gold) caught his front wheel in a hole which sent him over the handlebars and onto his face, without the chance to get his hands out in front of himself.Cranmer suffered several facial fractures, cerebral hemorrhaging and damage to his C4 and C5 vertebrae.Cranmer, 29, was rushed to the hospital immediately with help from the Road 2 Recovery Foundation, a non-profit organization aimed at aiding professional action sports athletes that have sustained serious injuries. The foundation quickly flew Cranmers wife Lisa and father Scott from New Jersey to Las Vegas to be at his side and offer moral support.Las Vegas native T.J. Lavin, a former X Games gold medalist that experienced a traumatic brain injury in 2011, offered help in providing information on local doctors in the area, and the BMX community quickly rallied behind Cranmer to offer moral support via social media. Olympic gold medalist BMX racer Connor Fields even visited to offer support. But Cranmers reach spans far beyond BMX at this point. A year ago, Cranmer began documenting his life via YouTube. He had little knowledge of cameras or editing, but decided to learn by trial and error, and slowly began amassing experience behind and in front of the camera, as well as subscribers. He introduced the world to a character named Big Boy. He played musical bikes. He broke his back at X Games Austin 2016 and filmed the experience from inside of the ambulance and the hospital. He put his life out there for everyone to see. And he now he boasts a loyal YouTube base of 633,725 subscribers who tune in each day to catch a glimpse of life as a professional BMX rider. On Sunday night, following surgery, Cranmer was diagnosed with a C4 incomplete spinal cord contusion. The brain hemorrhage was healing and would not require surgery, and doctors additionally fused his C4 and C5 vertebrae to add stability to the area of injury. According to an update from Cranmers wife Lisa, He can work hard and fight to fix the damage, but hes not just going to wake up okay. You guys know how much fight and determination he has. Hes got this! Cranmer will be moved to rehabilitation as early as next week, and will continue his recovery. For now, he remains in Las Vegas, and the hashtag #standwithscotty has been created to offer support. But theres more: Scottys number one YouTube sidekick, Big Boy, has pledged to keep their YouTube channel running throughout this ordeal. Following Cranmers injury, Big Boy was by his side, but he returned to New Jersey after the weekend to watch after Cranmers dogs and attend to Cranmers affairs.Im not even gonna try, I am going to keep the channel running as long as I can, and its gonna go on and on until Scotty gets back, said Big Boy via Instagram. For exclusive updates, visit Road 2 Recovery and for new videos from Big Boy, visit Cranmers YouTube channel.Brock Holt Jersey .com) - Manchester City midfielder David Silva is expected to miss the next four weeks because of a calf problem. The 30-year-old goalie is 3-3 with a .918 save percentage this season.A lot of guys play to their personalities, coach Jack Capuano said. And hes calm and poised in the net and he battles hard.Greiss made 39 saves and Adam Pelech and Josh Bailey scored in regulation for the Islanders, who had been 0-4-1 on the road this season. We needed the point so badly, Islanders defenseman Thomas Hickey said. It started with tonight. That was a big step. Thats a good hockey team on the road, and hopefully we can string something together. Each team had four goals in the shootout through 13 rounds. After Anaheims Kevin Bieksa missed on a slap shot to start Round 14, Leddy waited out Jonathan Bernier before snapping in the winner.Anaheim nearly won in the 12th when officials reviewed a tying goal by Hickey, but officials determined he did not interfere with Bernier on his attempt and awarded him the tally. Hickeys stick made contact with Berniers leg while his pad and the puck both slid over the goal line.I was under the understanding that you cannot score a goal in the NHL today by pushing the goaltenders pad with the puck underneath it over the line, but I guess I was proved wrong again tonight, Ducks coach Randy Carlyle said. The longest shootout in NHL history was 20 rounds, when Florida beat Washington on Dec. 17, 2014.Rickard Rakell and Cam Fowler each scored and Bernier stopped 33 shots for the Ducks, who dropped consecutive games for only the second time this season. The Ducks lost their first three games to start the season. It did not take long for the Ducks to strike first, with Fowleer picking up his fourth power-play goal of the season 1:04 in to the first period as Greiss just whiffed on stopping the slap shot.ddddddddddddBut the Islanders responded, and Pelech tied it at 1 on a shot from just inside the blue line that trickled through Berniers legs 11:51 into the first. John Tavares was initially credited with the goal as it appeared that he redirected the puck past Bernier, but Pelech eventually got the nod for his first career goal.Bailey put the Islanders ahead 2-1 on a one-timer power-play goal with 3:18 remaining in the first. With two Islanders and two Ducks right on top of Bernier, the goaltender simply did not have the space or time to react to the sudden shot off a fine pass from Tavares. The Ducks then opened fire on Greiss, who was somehow able to close his legs around the loose puck while face down on the ice after rookie Ondrej Kase hit the post in the second period. Rakell picked up his third goal in three games to tie it at 2 with 10:52 remaining in the third period, setting the stage for a extended shootout. We were happy with how we battled back and were able to get a point out of it, so well take that and move on to the next one, Fowler said.New York entered the game with the fewest wins in the NHL and tied with the Arizona Coyotes for fewest points before completing a two-game season sweep against the Ducks.Game notesDucks D Sami Vatanen left the game because of illness. ...
