LOUIS - The St. Louis Cardinals put their leading home run hitter, Brandon Moss, on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday due to a sprained left ankle.Moss jammed his foot while running the bases Monday night. He stayed in the game but woke up with soreness in the ankle Tuesday. Moss then had X-rays and consulted a foot specialist, who diagnosed him with a Grade 1 sprain. The team called up Randal Grichuk from Triple-A Memphis to take Moss spot on the 25-man roster.I think the likelihood of him being back before the All-Star break was questionable, and we certainly didnt want to play short the rest of the way, Cardinals general manager John Mozeliak said.
