MILWAUKEE -- Tyler Thornburg, a top prospect for the Brewers coming into this season, picked up his first major-league victory by throwing two scoreless innings of relief Saturday night. He was rewarded after the game with a plane ticket back to the minors. Jean Segura homered and Jonathan Lucroy hit a tiebreaking RBI double in the sixth inning, lifting the Brewers to a 4-3 win over the Philadelphia Phillies. "Im happy to get my first win, not happy to go down," Thornburg said after being told he was being optioned to Triple-A Nashville after a four-day stint with the Brewers. Reliever Jim Henderson, who was the teams closer when he was placed on the disabled list with a right hamstring injury on May 25, will be activated for Sundays game. "I kind of figured it was coming," Thornburg said. "I knew a move had to be made, especially with the off-days coming up. You dont really need a long guy in there." Thornburg (1-0) joined the team Wednesday despite going 0-7 with a 6.75 ERA in 12 starts for Triple-A Nashville. He also pitched two scoreless innings on Wednesday against Oakland. "Things really havent been going my way down there," Thornburg said of his time in Nashville. "Soft hit balls are hits. Hard hit balls are hits." Thornburg, who pitched in eight games for the Brewers in 2012, said he hoped his short time in Milwaukee would turn around his season. "Im just fortunate to come up here and things did go my way a little bit," he said. "For the most part I was really happy to get in a game that was close up here, where you could get a little adrenaline pumping and get locked in." Francisco Rodriguez pitched the ninth for his fourth save in four chances and 298th career save. Milwaukee manager Ron Roenicke said he may continue to use him as the teams closer for awhile, and use Henderson in a setup role, in an effort to get Rodriguez his milestone 300th save. Domonic Brown hit his NL-leading 19th home run, and had a two-run double in the eighth to account for all of the Phillies runs. With the score tied 1-1, the Brewers strung together four consecutive hits in the sixth off Kyle Kendrick (6-4) to score two runs and take the lead for good. Ryan Braun and Aramis Ramirez each singled, and Lucroy doubled to the base of the left-field wall, scoring Braun and giving the Brewers a 2-1 lead. Carlos Gomez then singled to left, driving in Ramirez to make it 3-1. Lucroy came into the game batting .253 after hitting .320 a year ago, but has been good in clutch situations. He was in a 3-for-18 slump before hitting the go-ahead double, but is batting .327 with 25 RBIs with runners in scoring position. "Four (hits) in a row is what you want in an offence, especially with the heart of the order right there getting the job done," Lucroy said. Kendrick allowed three runs on eight hits and a walk while striking out six in six innings. "They strung together some hits there but I was able to hold them to them to minimal damage," he said. The Phillies said catcher Erik Kratz injured his left knee while running to first in the ninth on a groundout. Manager Charlie Manuel said Kratz felt something pop in his knee and would have the knee examined. The Brewers made it 4-1 in the seventh when Brauns single scored Segura from third off Michael Stutes. The Phillies scored twice in the eighth off Brandon Kintzler. Michael Young, who had three singles, and Kevin Frandsen each singled. Kintzler then struck out both Jimmy Rollins and Delmon Young, but Brown hit a floating double down the left-field line to score both runners and pull the Phillies within 4-3. Pinch-hitter Ryan Howard then hit a one-hopper back to Kintzler to end the threat. The Phillies also threatened in the top of the sixth off Thornburg, but didnt score despite opening the inning with runners at second and third. The right-hander allowed two hits while striking out two in two innings. Milwaukee starter Tom Gorzelanny, making a spot start, allowed only one run on five hits while striking out three in four innings. Brown hit a 1-1 pitch into the Phillies bullpen in right field to make it 1-0 in the second. Segura hit a 1-1 pitch into the Brewers bullpen in left field to tie it 1-1 in the third. Braun had three singles and is 6 for 11 in the series. NOTES: RHP Carlos Zambrano allowed only one run and three walks while striking out seven for Double-A Reading on Saturday night.
